In just a second everything can change for some people. In car accidents what a driver was doing becomes imperative. Was that driver distracted? Were they on their smartphone? According to TeenSafe.com 80% of car crashes are attributed to a driver being distracted or not paying attention. Today the DMV estimates that 9 people per day die in distracted driving accidents. 14% of distracted driving accidents are due to the driver doing something on their mobile device. So, how can law enforcement and the legal community deal with this new epidemic?
