With black pepper, chili powder and cumin, my Paleo Spiced Nuts recipe offers incredible supercharged flavors! I’m always looking for high-protein snacks to keep me going during the day, and especially after a good workout. This all-time favorite paleo snack is slightly addictive and totally satisfying.
Nuts are Full of Healthy Fat
I like to eat nuts because they’re full of good fat, fill me up with their healthy fiber, and don’t leave me hungry. In fact, I keep a little tin of roasted almonds in my car at all times, just in case my blood sugar dips when I’m out with the boys or running errands.

Low-Carb Nut Recipe
If you’re cutting back on carbs you’ll want to check out my Low-Carb Diets page. For more wonderfully savory dishes like these nuts take a look at my Low-Carb Snack recipes! The idea for this recipe came from a wonderful book called Paleo Comfort Foods, a lovely tome of very useful paleo recipes.
Healthy Low-Carb Grain-Free Recipes
In 1998 I went gluten-free when I was diagnosed with celiac disease. I knew that the typical high-carb gluten-free diet would not be my ticket to health and went grain-free shortly thereafter. Since then I’ve written close to 2,000 grain-free recipes. So many of you come to this site for my healthy recipes. I feel much better when I follow a grain-free diet, also referred to as a hunter-gatherer diet or Paleo Diet. That’s why I’ve stuck with it for so many decades!
Do You Follow a Low-Carb Paleo Diet?
Let’s have a little chat. Are you gluten-free? Are you grain-free and paleo too? Do you take it a step further with a Keto Diet? What type of diet works best for you?
This post is an oldie but goodie from the archives. I first published this recipe in 2011.
